Hastings Midsummer Fish Fest June, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019

Hastings Sinfonia has performed four times at the Hastings Midsummer Fish Festival held in June at the Stade, Old Town, Hastings.
We have performed much loved classics with our great friends Thomasin Trezise (Soprano), Nuri Koseoglu(Violin)  and Christopher Beaumont (Xylophone) , together with new works specially written by our Artistic Director Polo Piatti

We perform in one of the tents (near the bar), this is a much looked forward to concert from our musicians and  we have had many positive comments from people who do not normally listen to classical music - so a great success all round.

Battle of the Somme  Film Concert 21st May, 2017

Hastings Sinfonia was delighted to play live to the restored 1916 film of The Battle Of The Somme as part of The Battle Of The Somme Centenary Tour.  We were honoured to have the composer Laura Rossi and Dr Toby Haggith of the Imperial War Museums giving opening speeches.  This was a challenging work to organise and perform but was a resounding success with nearly a full house,  Thank you very much to everyone involved.

Hastings Pirates Day 16th July 2017

The orchestra performed some great pirate and sea themed music  to a large enthusiastic audience.  The orchestra all dressed as pirates and a great time was had by all. Yo ho ho!

Ore Academy Primary School Thursday 21st May, 2015

The Hastings Sinfonia gave a short concert at Ore Academy Primary School  to all the school. This was a most enjoyable concert for all concerned and hopefully we will have inspired some children to either learn an instrument or to enjoy classical music.  Special thanks to our two clarinet players Clare and Barbara who stood in at very short notice and to Ian McCrea the headteacher who looked after us so well and played an excellent tuba solo.

Christ Church CE SchoolThursday 26th March, 2015

Members of the Hastings Sinfonia gave a short concert to all of the children at Christ Church CE School in St Leonards-on-Sea

Two children came and conducted and there was lots of other interaction between the children and our conductor Derek Carden.  Music is a very important part of this school and it was very exciting to learn that so many young children are learning instruments.
The orchestra finished off the fabulous morning with coffee and cakes in a local restaurant.
