IAlice Younger -Violin
Being part of Hastings Sinfonia has been a wonderful experience, and the orchestra is so welcoming and friendly. Having joined in the wake of the pandemic, the orchestra provided me with many opportunities to start playing with others again and for live concerts, I have immensely enjoyed both the incredibly wide range of music that we have played, from opera arias and piano concertos to film music and well-known favourites, and the variety of concerts, including performing at the Hastings Midsummer Fish Festival and alongside local dancers and singers. It has also been amazing to play alongside the London Mozart Players on several occasions, such as for Polo Piatti’s ‘Libera Nos,’ a truly awe-inspiring and monumental work, and I have learned a lot from these experiences, as well as met many musicians in the industry, making valuable connections for the future.

Daisy Noton - Flute
Playing in the Hastings sinfonia during my school years was amazing. I learnt so many new pieces and learnt a lot about ensemble playing which has bern so useful for my conservatoire student/professional life. The Hastings sinfonia is also such a lovely community of musicians. It was a highlight of my week being able to chat and play with so many friendly people.
